Hello and welcome back to Lighting India!
As we move into the second half of 2025, it’s remarkable to note that we are now closer to the year 2050 than to 2000. Seven months into the year, smart lighting systems are already projected to account for over 25% of total global lighting sales—driven by the rapid integration of IoT technologies and voice-controlled platforms. The future, it seems, is already shining bright.
According to Fortune Business Insights, the global LED lighting market was valued at approximately USD 97.07 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach USD 272.44 billion by 2032, reflecting a robust CAGR of 14.0% from 2025 through 2032. As India moves steadily toward becoming a $5 trillion economy, the demand for sophisticated home décor, smart lighting, and modular furniture is rising rapidly.
In this edition, we are pleased to bring you a compelling Cover Story on how Polish lighting and interior design brands are exploring new opportunities in India. We delve into their manufacturing strength, design philosophies, and export ambitions as they set their sights on India’s dynamic lighting and architecture market.
We feature a special article titled “Light as a Living Element” by our esteemed contributor Sandeip Anand, Director at AIMS Lighting Design where he thoughtfully explores how lighting is often seen as a last-minute detail—added once the paint has dried and décor is in place—yet for those who are passionate about illumination, light is far more than just an accessory. This issue also highlights several recent lighting projects that serve as examples of architectural and design excellence.
