Traditionally, light was merely viewed as a way to achieve the fundamental goal of visibility. However, light is far from being just that. It is now used to soothe the soul and evoke enlightening emotions. Not everyone knows how a warm light in a room can be unbelievably helpful for Meditation. Similarly, it is less often understood how powerful illumination can be used to restore and disseminate calm.
In a city like Mumbai when everyone sleeps, even a single lamp on the street symbolizes how alive and secure a city feels at night. The little area a lamp blooms, becomes the focus when everything else around is dark. In darkness, they become the silent guardians of urban life.
