Polar Light Technologies, the Swedish pioneer behind a novel bottom-up pyramidal microLED platform, has officially become a member of the MicroLED Industry Association (MIA), joining the association at the same time as Plessey Semiconductors and UBI Research with the ultimate goal of advancing the global microLED ecosystem.
Polar Light Technologies’ membership adds to its growing momentum following several important milestones. In 2025, the company demonstrated its first micro‑display prototype based on its patented GaN/InGaN pyramidal microLEDs – engineered via a bottom-up fabrication method that eliminates etching damage and supports monolithic RGB emission using a single material system.
“Joining MIA is a natural next step in our path to commercialization,” said CEO Oskar Fajerson. “As we prepare to bring our microLED technology to market, collaboration with industry leaders through MIA will help amplify our impact and accelerate innovation across the display landscape.” Polar Light Technologies aims to deliver products into applications such as AR/VR, micro‑projectors, and wearables.
