Organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India, the exhibition marks a significant evolution from the earlier LED Expo format, expanding its scope to encompass the entire lighting value chain.
The upcoming edition will feature over 250 exhibitors, 1,000+ brands and more than 6,000 products spread across 13,000+ sqm of gross exhibition space, with over 70 new product launches anticipated. The rebranding to Light + LED Expo reflects the industry’s shift towards a broader convergence of technologies, including architectural lighting, smart systems, LED innovations and connected solutions.

Commenting on the development, Raj Manek, Executive Director & Board Member, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd, said: “Light + LED Expo Mumbai reflects the rapid transformation of the lighting industry from standalone products to integrated, smart and design-led solutions. The platform brings together lighting innovators with architects, designers, and infrastructure stakeholders, enabling meaningful business connections while supporting India’s evolving built environment.”
Lighting today plays a critical role in modern built environments, spanning commercial offices, hospitality and retail spaces to educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and industrial infrastructure. Reflecting this transition, the exhibition attracts a diverse, decision-making audience including architects, interior designers, lighting consultants, builders, contractors, real estate developers, and infrastructure planners who are increasingly integrating advanced lighting solutions into their projects.

A key focus of the exhibition will be the rapid growth of smart and connected lighting technologies. Manufacturers are incorporating sensors, IoT-enabled systems and intelligent controls that allow buildings to optimise energy consumption while enhancing user comfort and operational efficiency. Human-centric lighting, automation and design-driven solutions are also gaining traction across workplaces, hospitality environments, and public infrastructure.
The exhibition is set against the backdrop of strong growth in India’s LED lighting market. Valued at approximately USD 6 billion in 2025, the sector is projected to reach nearly USD 27.8 billion by 2034, driven by urbanisation, infrastructure expansion, government-led energy efficiency initiatives and rising demand for sustainable lighting solutions.

Participating companies include Indian manufacturers such as TINGE, ME Products, Meanwell India, Hans Lights, Kevin Electrochem, JN Lighting, Kamla Lamps, Power Palazzo, Glitteron and Zylos, along with international exhibitors from China, Dubai, Italy, and Korea.
The event will also feature a comprehensive, day-wise knowledge programme addressing current trends and future industry needs. Day one will focus on innovation and inclusivity, featuring the Product Excellence Awards in collaboration with Women in Lighting, alongside a session with the International Association of Lighting Designers on the impact of AI on design and building systems. Day two will centre on sustainable urban development, with the Indian Society of Landscape Architects leading discussions on future-ready nightscapes, complemented by a panel by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage on lighting and cultural preservation. Day three will highlight practical frameworks and emerging technologies, with the Lighting Association of Commercial & Architectural Market India presenting structured best practices through the ‘6 Ps’ and exploring the transition from conventional LEDs to intelligent lighting systems.

Supported by the Luminaires Accessories and Components Manufacturers Association (LACMA), Women In Lighting (WIL) and the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), the expo underscores the growing importance of lighting innovation in India’s expanding construction and infrastructure landscape.
By bringing together technology developers, manufacturers and design professionals,
Light + LED Expo Mumbai 2026 positions itself as a key industry platform showcasing the evolution of lighting as a smart, sustainable, and design-driven component of modern architecture and urban development.
The exhibition is part of the Light + Building Technology fair portfolio, anchored by the biennial Light + Building event in Frankfurt, Germany. The next edition is scheduled to be held from 5 – 10 March 2028. Messe Frankfurt also organises several trade fairs for the light and building technology sectors across Asia, Argentina, China, the UAE, and the USA.
