LEDVANCE, a global provider of lighting solutions and photovoltaic installation components, has launched a warehouse in Wrocław, from which thousands of products are shipped daily.
Until recently, all European LEDVANCE orders were processed from the company’s main warehouse in France. While centralization has its benefits, the Polish branch—responsible for more than 20 countries across Central and Eastern Europe and Scandinavia—recognized the need to streamline customer service and reduce delivery times in order to meet growing sales targets. This led to the decision to build a new warehouse in this part of the world.
The new warehouse spans 22,000 square meters. With 12-meter-high racks for high-bay storage, it can accommodate 32,000 pallets. The wide market reach, diversity of goods, and specific customer needs mean that during peak season—winter—nearly 110 employees handle customer orders daily. This ensures that all products are shipped on time, even during sudden spikes in order volume.
Locating the warehouse in Poland not only meets customer demands for fast order fulfillment but also maximizes the company’s operational efficiency and reduces its carbon footprint—an increasingly important issue. Over half of the goods are delivered in bulk container form, where the full container space is utilized by avoiding palletization. Fewer pallets mean more products per container, which—on the scale of hundreds of deliveries—translates into fewer container shipments, lower transport costs, and reduced CO2 emissions. The Wrocław warehouse benefits from an excellent location, optimizing logistics for Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. Inventory is planned and managed based on regional customer needs, & LEDVANCE even offers product modifications to meet unique specifications.
