THE CHALLENGE
The old lighting of the Wevershuis in Herentals Belgium had to be replaced with a modern LED lighting solution. This ambitious step should not only enhance the lighting quality but help achieve significant savings on the energy bill. Next to that, the neo-classical design of the house had to be maintained and respected all along.
The Solution
The lighting project, developed by LEDVANCE together with the owner and Architect, has played an essential role in highlighting the architectural splendor of the Wavers Huis. The interior is illuminated with Classic B 40 DIM E14 lamps for the beautiful chandeliers that adorn the various rooms. A particular highlight can be found in the entrance hall with LEDVANCE Linear Indiviled Everloop, specially mounted as a light line for this project. This provides both direct and indirect warm white light, impressively accentuating the central corridor and highlighting the monumental character of the building immediately upon entering. Residential fixtures such as Decor Tokyo Table, Planon Frameless fixtures for the ceilings, Panan Alu as desk lighting and recessed spotlights Darklight Fix were also used in the various spaces. In outdoor lighting, Endura Style Lantern Bollards were used in many places.
The Benefits
Switching the lighting to LED technology produced remarkable results in several respects: Energy consumption was significantly reduced by more than 60%, leading to substantial savings on the energy bill.
