This year, the Zumtobel Group has been recently awarded a gold medal by the EcoVadis sustainability rating platform for the first time. After receiving silver several times, the company leaped to gold by continuously optimising its CSR activities along the value chain, thus joining the top three percent of more than 75,000 companies assessed.

“More and more companies and decision-makers take sustainability criteria into account in their procurement and purchasing decisions. With EcoVadis, we take the Zumtobel Group’s sustainability performance to the level of legitimate and independent comparability with more than 75,000 enterprises. It makes me very proud that we have been awarded the gold medal for our performance and that the Zumtobel Group ranks among the top three percent of all companies assessed.” said
Mario Wintschnig, CSR-Manager, Zumtobel Group.

The gold status was achieved as a result of a significant improvement in the overall rating of the topics analysed by EcoVadis. The EcoVadis certification assesses companies in four different areas. In the category Environment as well as in the total score, the Zumtobel Group was ranked in the top one percent. In the categories Labor and Human Rights (top eight percent), Sustainable Procurement (top ten percent) and Ethics (top five percent), the company is also in the upper field of the ranking.

As a goal for the coming years, the Zumtobel Group is now striving for the platinum medal, the highest possible award. This will support the company’s sustainability measures and the target of climate neutrality by 2025
